Help with Logistics
Transportation to/from Airport
Acapulco International Airport (ACA), aka General Juan N. Álvarez Airport, is located roughly 10 minutes from the aforementioned hotels. A Shuttle Service will be arranged by your hosts, picking you up during Thursday and Friday as well as taking you back on Sunday and Monday. If you are interested in using the shuttle service, please send your arrival and departure information via the RSVP page to better schedule the shuttles. Taxi cabs can also be found at the airport and can be hailed from any hotel. If needed, you can look up Car Rental services as well.
Airlines Unfortunately, one must fly through Mexico City (AICM) (average Customs waiting time: 35 min) to get to and from the US to Acapulco. There are many trusted airlines that fly from the US to Mexico as well as from Mexico City to Acapulco. You may find it more affordable and/or faster to purchase a round-trip ticket to/from your location to Mexico City through Southwest Airlines or any other US-based major airline and a second round-trip ticket on a local Mexican airline from Mexico City to/from Acapulco. If you choose this option, remember to allow time for you to clear Customs in Mexico City and re-check in locally. Suggested local Airlines in Mexico include: Aeromexico (and Aeromar), Interjet and Volaris. Your hosts do NOT recommend any of their guests to fly Viva Aerobus.
From water sports and country clubs to beach eatery and fine dining, the Acapulco Diamante area has a lot to offer. The map above shows some of the spots you can visit during your stay. Your hosts advise that you stay within this area while you explore, since it's the most secure and tourist-friendly.
Currency exchange $
The USD to Mexican Peso exchange value has been staying around $18.5 Pesos per Dollar, although it does fluctuate a little bit every day, so make sure you check the rate right before your arrival to avoid surprises. If you wish, you may contact the Exchange House in advance.
Most Visa and Master Card credit and debit cards are accepted in hotels, bars and restaurants, however, it is advisable to carry some cash if you intend to shop with the street vendors in town. The Sukha & Sal beach club as well as the Pierre and Quinta Real hotels also take American Express.
